Has anyone done a slow charge on an oem battery ? I am considering doing a slow charge for like 2 hrs on my battery. I bought my car used and I have the charge machine so figured, why not. It's a 2006 and wondered if there would be better battery power and response if it is full. I don't have any issues with it at this time. Just curious. And if this is do-able, how should i go about it.

I use my CTEK charger to slow charge my battery. If I'm not using the car I can let the charger be attached over a weekend. I use the terminals under the hood to connect the charger as stated in the user manual.

During cold winter months, I trickle charge my battery once a week at 2 amp. To connect a charger, see Page 213, "Connecting Jumper Cables" in 2006_5_Series_Manual_US.pdf.

Okay, this might just be a coincidence. However, I have a problem!

I had my OEM BMW M-Tech Kit installed about a couple weeks ago. On the day when the kit was installed, we had to jump start my car. Ever since after, I have had 5 jump starts already. This morning I started the car fine. After I parked it for about 4 hours, they car cranks but would not turn over. Could there be some kind of wiring mix up on the lights or alarm system when they put the M-tech kit together?

Also, during the last two weeks, I have charged my battery three times with a battery maintainer.

Please help. My car looks great now. But, I can't drive it anymore. I am the original owner and the car was bought brand new.

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

I bought one of the BMW trickle chargers from the BMW dealer parts counter. I think it is this one...looks like it anyways.

It brought the green dot back into the sight glass on the battery. I just hooked it up to the posts under the hood
