Update on the StealthOne
-----------------------
Thanks for you interest in the StealthOne. The E60 as well as all the newer BMWs have a much more complicated communication bus. We plan on upgrading our current architecture to support newer BMWs in early 2005.
Thanks,
Jared Gaillard

FYI, I installed my Passport via these direct wire instructions this weekend. Thanks for the clear instructions and pictures. Works great.
Power into the green/yellow wire
Ground on the nut into the roof beam (and it was a %^** pain in the ass to get it loose and in again)!
Thanks again.
Great forum.

I installed my Valentine One this weekend. Works like a charm. Thanks for the info here.
Some notes:
1. I used the wire bundle going to into the rain sensor (I think that's the one Don Juan used, rather than the one jksanford used). It contained the green/yellow wire.
2. Couldn't figure out good unobtrusive location which would allow me to use the sun visor without blocking the detector. Right now it's in the same place the Don Juan placed his.
3. I used the same grounding screw as jksanford: screw came out very easily using an appropriately sized allen key.
4. I got a long bath towel and spread it out from the top of the dashboard all the way down the center console and armrest area to protect the finish / catch falling stuff while i installed. Saved the finish from good chip as i dropped a wrench.
5. Correct part from ValentineOne (for those of you who don't have the adapters that came with the original V1) is Direct-Wire Power Adapter Kit (part number 00030). Parts dept website is here.

Has anyone installed a ZR-3 laser shifter?

No, but did I purchased the Escort 8500 z50 "Blue Screen" for $339.00 with the $10.00 visor clip, and I had it hardwired to my visor by hi-fi buys (Tweeter), for $50.00, and it is the best $$$ money I spent so far. The wire is hidden and the 8500 is small attached to my visor and not on my windshield like almost everyone else's is with those annoying suction cup marks! I was strongly considering the Escort ZR-3, but did not have the extra money after buying this E60 Chris Bangle special!

Well, I just finished the install following the pics and comments on the thread. Very helpful. Thanks all!!
I used the green/yellow wire going to the mirror/rain sensor
Grounded to the hex bolt holding the sunroof drive mechanism
Wire out through the opening betw the windshield and the insert
No real problems, other than forgetting how to put the snap-on/off covers back on. Put the light cover on almost all of the way, clipped in leaving it a little open so that you can clip the bigger piece with the mics and the sunroof control underneath the lip of the light cover piece, then the finish pusing it all up snug.

Wow what a great, easy install! I was done in 20 minutes, V1 happily lit up w/ ignition. Thanks DJ and jksanford!
