Dear All
I have an 520d E60 from 02/2008.
I've just instal (retrofit) an profesional navigation system and now my car need coding and programing. I've found one ov my collegs have an ops with optical cable but that is not possible to fit it into my car...
the MOST conector is situated into passenger side (next to the fuse box)
I have the DIS and SSS v32 but I'm not able to do any programing via obd2 and the optical is not possible to fit it there.. the conector from my car is longer and the distance between that two optical pins longer. wjhat coding system do I have to use? what version of software.. after I will finish I will post here step by step photos about how to do it ..
Thans.. please pm ne or arsinte_andrei@yahoo.com...
Andrew

have you had any luck with programming yet

I've ordered a set of software ( GT1 DIS v57 INPA OBD2 SSS v32 ) and cable ( BMW OBD2 16 pin with a slight modification inside )
and will also sort out a power supply ( Digital Display SPS-9400 40 AMP Power Supply with meter )

I was originally going to get BMW dealer to do it , however they charge 112.50 an hour and they recon it will be around 10 hours for my BMW E60 530i ES 08-2003 model ( E60 MASK MMI Texte i03-12-500 vom 1 ), and since I've done plenty of firmware updates and bios updates etc and a friend that owns a repair garage to lend me his power supply , as well as modify my car with the professional sat nav and ipod etc I might as well get the kit myself and do the job

Ghostworks? for updates the service centers cap the charge at 2 and half hours, mine took 12 hours but I only paid aroud £280. Porgman can update your car to v32 if you have the full kit and a decent battery charger.

You do realise that at the service venters they use the fibre optic port for updates, the obd port is very very slow.
