Anyone help with a couple of questions......have been told my 535d has navigation prep.....what does that mean?

Also I have all the bits for pro sat nav but need a good installer. The only one I found was in Birmingham.

Anyone know someone near North London who can offer a service like Cartronics to install and update the software?

thanks.....

I know this is kind of off the wall, but I will be in Germany all of next month, and London in late March. If you can't find an installer by then, I can get everything taken care of (minus coding) in under/about an hour. Let me know and I will send you a list of the exact tools I would need - and of course I would install it for free assuming you could make it to the area of London I will be staying.

thanks for those.....only 15 miles can be a pain around London when you need to get a car there first thing in the morning and they want it for up to 3 days!

Currently talking to Ed at A1BM who seem's to know what he's are talking about.....and is easier to get to/from.

yeah - the guy I spoke to at A1BM had the same attitude as you......not a big deal!

It was Cartronics who said i might need to allow 3 days.....i think he was just saying worst case.

Will report back next week when it has been to A1BM

Anyone know what navigation prep means???

in the US that meant you had the GPS antenna, secondary microphone, and high idrive controller pre-installed so retrofit was just a matter of installing the CCC and the monitor and doing the coding. not sure if that's the same in europe.

Anyone know how I could check if the above was the case with my car?

Would I need to look at the aerial or idrive and get part nos?

How do you access them?

thanks guys.....

Sorry to threadcrap

DrDave and Charles - Would you please provide a list of parts that are required (besides the obvious 8" monitor, CCC and iDrive controller) in order to convert from no navi to pro navi? Does the model year matter (i.e., updating a '04 car with '07 equipments)? Thanks.
