Phone cradle for HTC Diamond

I'm very happy with my HTC touch Diamond, it's an incredible device. I think I'll keep it for some time, so I decided to build a proper cradle for my E60 bluetooth system.
Of course it's also possible to just buy a mini-USB car charger, but I'm kind of a perfectionist in this and I want it integrated in a nice way.
So I took a cradle I got from a dealer for an ancient phone (Nokia 6230i) and modified it for the HTC Diamond, as I did not think BMW would make one.
Modifications:
Electrical: Modify voltage (in this case from 6.2V to 5.1V) and current limiter (600mA --> 800mA)
Mechanical: Obviously, make sure the phone fits. But also replace the Nokia proprietary connector by a mini-USB. And make sure the HTC's USB port does not see too mych mechanical stress, by making the mini-USB plug rotatable (+spring)
Now if BMW decides to bring out a cradle for the Diamond, this work would all be quite inefficient. But I enjoyed doing it and after all it cost less than 2 hours.

I have no clue about cost if I would decide to do it... Is it for the HTC Diamond too?

So how is this mod going? Still working well with no issues? I have an HTC Victor (Diamond Variant from T-Mobile) and am looking to do a similiar thing for my phone. I must say, I am very impressed. Your pictures have *almost* given me the confidence to try this!
