Hello guys,
I've been having the infamous airbag/seat belt red light on my dash and I-drive and I am looking for a way to get rid of the error message from popping up. Now when I saw another thread posted here earlier about a possible fix that HAS worked for a member, I immediately gave it a try.

Now what I did was, access the SBSR and changed OC3_SBSR to nicht_aktiv and cleared the error code via inpa.

About 2-3 days later, I get the same error message on the Idrive and dash. I believed that changing the OC3 code would disable the sensor/message from popping up as a fellow member posted this earlier.

Now i have been attempting to look up more info regarding this issue and I found these lines from bmwcoding.com :

(SIDEBAG_LINKS_1
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is left side seat airbag.)

SIDEBAG_RECHTS_1
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is right side seat airbag.)

OC3_1
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the occupancy mat.)

For newer cars:

AKS_LINKS_1_CD
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the left side active head restraint.)

AKS_RECHTS_1_CD
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the right side active head restraint.)

Now I do not want to risk my safety because by the looks of the comments on that forum page, people state that this could be disabling the airbags completely. So I would like to just get away by turning off the mat detection sensor and or error by the OC3_SBSR code, which did not work for me.

Is there something else i need to code or do after I change this setting? Maybe unplug the mat sensor?

Thank you guys, any reference or forward to another info page is helpful.

( I also have included my SBSR module trace file if anyone needs to take a look at it.)

Thanks!

am sorry I might sound dump but how you guyz can scan this error and control it through ur laps. I got the same thing but i sent to the dealer and they said its the clock spring and need to be changed and they want $1400!!!

I was driving one day and i heared a noise from the steering wheel like something got unblugged or so. Then the buttons in the steering wheel is not working anymore and i found this error and it also appears on the dash board and screen.

Can you guyz please advise me! My ride is BMW 525xi 06 and has 60k on it. Thanks
