1. I bought my BMW from a small dealer ...when i originally looked at the hood, it some a few chips in it i had planned to clean up myself...
Unfortunately, while I was signing papers, the dealer pulled one over my head by going to "detail the car." They had someone put paint on the chipped areas and it was put on very poorly. Now i have small globs along the hood (looks like rain drops that won't go away)....
I have the touch up kit but I'm weary of sanding the hood...does anyone know how to take care of this ??
2. In my dash, I am pre-wired for a CDC but it is the fiber optic connection. Is there any alternative other than a 300-400 dollar Dension 500?

Welcome to the forum...
For iPod? To have full iDrive control the alternative is 200-300 dollar OEM iPod interface module (I think mObridge cost more than Dension) ... you understand either OEM or Dension that is cost for part only if you don't do install yourself you probably have to check with your dealer for install cost such as programming and stuff.
Or use AUX input (if there's one) or FM modulator and control the iPod manually.
