Has anyone changed their oil on a 2006 525? I only see a large cover under the car not a small cover where the oil plug should be, so i am wondering if you have to take the whole under cover off to get to the plug and filter.. Thanks for any help Tommy

This maybe a stupid question, but why would you change oil by yourself on your 06 car?

If BMW doesn't change their design in 2006, there should be a small opening/flap right under the engine/tranny area. That plastic flap is held by a philip screw. Unscrew the philip screw and pull the flap down. You should see the engine oil pan drain nut.

Hope this help.

some people don't like to wait for the oil change interval that BMW recomends which is free. people might want to change oil every 3,000 or 5,000 miles. if you do this, bmw won't pay for this. dealer then will charge you for the work done.
