Need quick help with CD Changer install
#1
I bought a slightly used CD changer (less than one year old) off a member here and installed it into my 2007 e60. The wiring harness in the back of the glove compartment only has two wires connected to it. Is this correct or does the dealer need to add more wires? (fibre optic?) Also, is there supposed to be some type of mounting bracket I need to mount the changer because I've just stuffed the thing as far back as it can go and it fits pretty snug. I've heard different conflicting messages that my CD changer needs to be activated by the dealer, if it does, how much do they charge? I'm going to get my service soon (15k oil change, squeeking brakes, rattling dash, iDrive update) do you think they'll include the activation free of charge? Any help is appreciated. (I never thought it'd be so complicated to install a CD changer, I assumed it'd be plug and play! )

I have noticed changers on ebay, some with and some without the metal mounting holders
With enough persuassion you should be able to twist your dealers arm into the software update for free (be persistant and assertive)
