I'm having a devil of a time disconnecting the electrical connection at the throttle box.

Removing pedal is a snap with about a 6mm hex. There isn't a lot of slack in the cable so the working space is tight. Most connectors have locks on the side to keep them securely connected. I've looked for levers that are common on BMWs but none seen.

I slid a small screwdriver up one side and a small [1/4" x3/9"]plastic piece popped out [see pic] but before I try the same on the other side and risk damage to the throttle side of the connector I thought it wise to go to folks who have done this before.

I also didn't want to try and pull too much wiring up through the carpet [that would give me a better working angle] ... Any advice so I don't risk damage to the throttle assemble would be appreciated!

Luigi - You're on the right track, what I did was to squeeze the connector on both sides with fingers and then pulled it out slowly. I agree that the work space and cable length are limited. Good luck!

luigi you must have really huge fingers.. :wow: but, do as thexman says.. squeeeeeeeeeeeeeze..lolol.. and it comes right out..lol.. took me less then 5 minutes.. or come to mi casa and ill help a fellow member out..lol.. although im a little sore from surgery.. playing with a bimmer is sure to speed my recovery :twoup:

Luigi, it's the kind of thing you have trouble with UNTIL you actually finish the job, after that you could install them quickly and easily! :thumbsup: However how many Sprint Boosters do you need at once?? :lol: After installing one in my 545i, I installed one in my X5 and THAT one went much faster! :rolleyes: Good Luck with the Mod and I'm POSITIVE you will enjoy the results! :P

Yup .. .. I've gone from idiot to self-proclaimed genius before! This is no different ...

If only manufacturers could "standardize" more stuff - like why is it required to have 20 different electrical connector latching schemes when 2-3 would apply to most every application! These decisions must require the total brain power of the top engineering schools on the planet ... no wonder there's an energy shortage!

warm ur car up, then shut it off. now turn on ur heat and ur hands are warm enough. otherwise, you cant squeeze and pull. not that hard. just tedious. i removed my pedal in order to install my ACS pedals.
