I hear ya. Got sick of tracking down all the third party crap floating around the net and trying to configure this and that and making a virtual machine... total BS. Ended up getting a cable and software package for like $50 on ebay that is guaranteed to work. I'll report back with a link once it's shipped and I test it out and confirm its functionality.

Just don't try to flash for a lengthy period of time with that cable. More than 10 min. I would be skeptical. I tried 3 different cables and cost me about $1500. For a new unit. A good cable is going to cost you no less than $60 these days. I only use the Siemens one. After I got a new unit and a good cable i was back and working. So many years ago. Time flies
