Thank You
I am new to 5 Series.net.
A huge thank you to you all for your excellent rundown on changing the EGR and main thermostats.
I started this job at 9.10pm last night, by 01.45 the job was done, new coolant, new main and EGR thermostats and the car was out and in use at 08.30 this morning.
Being a devout coward I spent a little while pondering over the lower 45 torex screw attaching the EDR pipe to the manifold which I had by now loosened. It was one of those jobs that I knew no matter what I did I was going to drop the bolt, this was not an option given the need to use the car in the morning. That was when I dicovered I could get to all the main thermostat bolts without removing this final bolt; what a huge sense of relife. This worked perfectly. The thermostat can be manovered out past the EGR heat exchanger and the new one manovered back in; sorted as they say https://5series.net/forums/images/sm...rted/smile.gif.
