M5 mirrors installation question

I will be using this diy here: https://5series.net/forums/topic/548...1&#entry578961
to fit my m5 replica mirrors but one question:
- i need to replace the motors and the cable from my current mirrors to the new m5 replicas. in the diy he cuts the cables, i rather not do that since i will be putting the same cable into the new mirrors.
can i just unplug them from the plastic clip somehow?

There is no cutting of any cables required. If you undo the pins from the plug you can remove all the electronics from the mirror without cutting any wires. How do you think they went in there in the first place?
