M5 mirror

Hi,

Just changed my mirror to the M5 mirror (plug n play) and i have changed the door switch too , but the folding function is not working .


Any ideas why?

Dealer needs to reporgram the car for that to work. And I dont think it has been successful yet here in the US.

I know for a fact that there is a control module needed for the passengers side mirror to fold up as well. If you remove the passengers door panel, you will see a black box with wire harnesses attached to it. The one you need is the one for the M5 (which has folding mirrors). I learned that with my old E39 when I purchased M5 styled mirrors. I had to change the drivers door switch (which had the extra button to activate the fold feature) and the left-side passengers door module (which communicates with the drivers door switch), and dealer programming was NOT necessary.
