Hello fellow people...

Just changed the stock footrest for the M5 one...

This was the most terrible work that i ever had done...
The changing of the front grill is quite difficult, but in comparison with that a child play

I think i have cut ad broke all my fingers, and now i have to rest a week until i can drive my bmw again...

Pics would follow, as i can move my fingers again!

Yes it's a process that requires time and patience but well worth it in the end.

I regret not taking pictures of the whole process but maybe someone else has or will and can post them.

I don't think that there is an easy version Andy, You have to Break and cut out the old one to remove it.

That looks great though! I want one now - no matter how much work it is to install.

looks good!
and exactly what made it so difficult? i had a troublesome weekend installing new grills and the cd changer. what was hard for the cd changer was the stupid bracket screws which were KDHASJKDH to install. and the frontgrills a pain to take out! but i guess in the end everything does pay off

Hello...

the reason for the problem is:

BMW used a such strong carpet glue under the footrest, so that is impossible to rip it off. Your fingers would hurt a lot , an then you would thought to take it out with cutting... You have to take a small knife, an get it under the oem footrest, an cut the glue... You would cut you x times in yout finger, but this is the only way to get it out...

By the way, i have destroyed the old one, a little bit.

Best Regards...

Replace my grills without braking any of the plastic brackets, and all in approx. 5 minutes time thanks to the accurate DIY description with pics found on this forum.
