Hi All,

Does anyone have a diagram or pictures of the location of control boards on the e60? I know that there is the ECU unit underneath the glove box, and the Seat control units underneath the front passangers seat, but are there any others?

Like on Audi's, there is a Gears/Transmission control unit underneath the carpeting of the driver footwell. Is there such a thing for Bimmer? Where are the other ECUs, apart from under-seat and glove box?

Thanks!

There are millions (hyperbole) of them, which one are you interested in.

Just to give you an idea of how complex this area is, there is an ECU behind almost every switch that you touch because when you press the switch the ECU needs to generate a CAN-ID and put that on the CAN BUS.
