Guys, I am sorry if the question sounds a little naive but I have been pretty confused by all the information on the forums. So if someone can please help me out in my predicament which is as follows:

I have a 2009 E60 LCI with xenon lights and today the left headlight first went a bit orange-ish and then stopped working completely. (On board computer now shows a 'Left Low beam failure')

What bulb do I need to replace? I will go to a local indy to get it installed but I want to make sure I am getting the right part that is of reasonable quality too. And how much will it set me back by? I don't mind installing a non-OEM part if the price difference between OEM and non-OEM is too big. Go easy on me guys. First post! ; )

For those that have changed their Angel Eye bulbs on your own, did the dealer have to code the car thru the idrive or was it just swap the bulbs and turn on the car?

Dealers do not need to code anything. All the bulbs are just plug and play.

Default Trinity Autosport 20w LED Angle Eyes

Hey guys,
Sorry if this is completely redundant, I've searched threads for an hour and get conflicting info. I'm the proud new owner of a 2008 535i sport w/xenon lights. My driver side angle eye failed a few days after purchase. I figured it made sense to replace both driver & passenger at the same time, researched upgrades to brighter white, and decided on Trinity's 20w. Nerwyll at Trinity has been really helpful and responsive, and the new lights arrived (from CA to FL) in 2 days. So kudos to Nerwyll/Trinity.

My dilemma- most youtube how-to's show that you have to take the whole headlight housing out to get at the angel eye bulb, and it seems fairly straightforward - remove the 2 torx screws at the top, loosen the 2 down below (no need to remove them) and pull the headlight housing out. There seems to be something holding the housing in at the lower in-side (closer to grill/center of car). I can't see it, and I don't want to force the housing out for fear of breaking something.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mac

As mentioned earlier for LCi you do not need to remove the headlights at all. Just take a look at the images in the first post, you will see the cover that needs to be removed to access the H8 for angel eyes.
