yes
2008-2010 in the US are considered LCI's...
for your friend having a 528i + halogens, this does thread does not apply to that, as the LCI AE h8 bulbs are only for xenon headlights....
LCI: Life Cycle Impulse. Differences/changes can be found here: http://www.5series.n...led_Changes.pdf

So only the xenon headlights on the LCI model use H8 bulbs for the AE.
What do the halogen models use for the AE?
His are ridiculously yellow and I've been trying to change it for awhile.

I was just on Umnitza site and they are showing a kit which requires removal of headlight to install. On a 08 LCI 5 series, am I looking at just the H8 bulb to bring the bulb temp. up or do I need some fancy kit marketed by others?

For the E60 LCI - you usually don't have to remove the headlight. In fact, it's a very simple install on the LCI cars. For Pre-LCI, you usually don't have to remove them either, but it does help a LOT.

Thank you!! It's good to finally hear something from the experts, because there is a whole lot of wrong information going around.

Quick question, In Troybal's thread for the E60 LCI fog light install he said he used the GP Thunder H8 bulb.
Angel Eyes: GP Thunder 8500K
Fogs: GP Thunder 8500K
So, does that mean the same bulb is used for the Angel Eyes and the Fog lights??
Thanks,
Gramps

=======
For the fog and angel eyes, no, the same bulbs shouldn't be used.
While they are H8 bulbs, they are not the same wattage, the angel eyes require no larger than 35W bulb, the fogs are 55W/65W/100W.

Keep in mind this is not for people with large hands on the pre-LCI

I don't believe Mtec makes any H8 bulbs.
But I do know we have a real Canbus HID H8 kit that works for the fogs with no error for $125 and we have a Genesis kit that works for the headlights with no errors as well.
I'll have more photos of the kit later this week once the M6 wheels are put onto that car.
