Hello there!
This past weekend my friend asked me to install K40 Caliber on his M5, which i did, and tried to take as many pictures as i could. I'm posting this tutorials for those who are interested in getting a good radar detector and don?t' want to spend a lot of money. Used K40 with one laser diffuser should cost around $400 - $500 depends on the shape. Installation is fairly easy, as you will see.

If you decide to install the unit - I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. But i will gladly help you with any of your questions.

I don?t want to argue over the quality of K40 or any other radar detector out there. It is my choice and it works for me, so please guys DO NOT start arguing which radar is better.

So let's begin

Wiring is pretty simple - i hooked front and rear radar up to constant (12 Volts) and ground. The brain went to Ignition and ground (the famous 12V socket by the passenger seat.
When i finished the job all i needed is to Reset the K40. i took the fuses out of the front and back radars. Turned the car on. Using the remote i turned the unit off. Pressed and hold Mute button untill it flashed then pressed it again. The unit said: K40 Reset. Then i turned the car off. Fuses went back in. Turned the car back on and K40 said Connecting..... Then it confurmed that Front connected and Rear connected.

Job is done.
