Hi,

Im getting my E60 later today and tought someone her could help me answer som questions regarding software coding/updates etc. My car is a 2004 without navi and 1 slot cd player in the dash (wich I guess cant play mp3s cds). But I have the cd-changer in the glovebox. With this setup, what coding/updates do I need to get the OEM iPod Interface to work?

Is this a genuine BMW Part ? As the box shows the BMW logo so does the sticker on the unit ?

What about warranty, will it invalidate warranties on cars still under warranty if it's not a genuine BMW part

Finally, anyone successfully got the MP3 softrware upgraded in the UK for free with the bulletin? if now how much did it cost ?

Hoping someone is online that can assist. I'm at Myermco right now getting my dension installed and they are running into a problem. With switches 1and2 turned on the car will not recognize the iphone, but with only 2 on it will however not text enabled.

I have, Nav, CDC, and i thought mp3 enabled. (with disc in cd slot i can see name of song)

Any hints to what is missing?
Thx

Update the firmware on the Dension, it seems strange you get it to show tracks with switch 2 up but not track names, also got to CD5 Sources and Select IPOD GW (i think) see if the text comes up.

Use an MP3 CD in the main slot, it will show a list of the tracks and show you the car is mp3 enabled else not recognise the disc.

Looks like 'Autobullbdirect' are out of stock. Anywhere else stocking these ?

For any in the UK, did you need to use the bulleting to get the software upgrade. Was the US bulletin accepted ?

I just stated it works on a friends 5 series that's older then mine, with the same set up. I also stated it said it plays mp3 in the handbook. Took them a few attempts mind as they need to add it via a retrofit menu before the update. Just keep pushing as a warrenty issue that should have worked from day 1 of the car being sold.

Good luck
