I was quoted $355 for the iPod adapter and was told I will not be able to do it myself. Does my iDrive need reprogramming? Or does the ipod menu show up under the CD menu?

If there's one thing that pisses me off more than anything, it's an incompetent dealer, or a dealer that isn't bothered.
I just bought the OEM interface ( for cars with CDC ) and asked the dealer to install for me while they updated my 2006 model E60 M5. ( My car is a July 2005 build ). I just got a call from the technician saying that he couldn't install it because there's an "adaptor/connector" missing.
I am sure the interface kit comes with everything you need to just plug it into where the CD changer is.
When I asked him if the new software will enable the ipod feature, he couldn't answer.
Looks like another trip to the dealer tomorrow morning for lecturing.

Here's some pics of the install. I think they are pretty self explanatory except that the CD-Changer screws don't come out. They just loosen and then permits you to pull the unit out. I fixed the iPod interface with the supplied cable ties. No drilling no nothing. Plug n Play.

I notices there is a plug inside the glove compartment with two wire going to it. Is this the place where I can connect the Ipod adapter to it? From there picture it look as if there are two more wire needed but I not sure becuase it look like it can plug right into the ipod adater. My question to anybody who is familar with this stuff is there anything else I would need to do as far as connecting the ipod adapter to the cars wiring ?

Is there something I can do to be able to play mp3 cds through the cd player or is this not an option? If it is possible, can somebody please walk me through it? My car is still under warrenty for a few months if that matters.
