My Ride: 2006 Titanium Silver 550i, with all the bells and whistles!!
got my painted trunk spoiler (thanks JBSPEED) and am preparing to install it tomorrow. My plan is:
1. wash trunk with dawn to remove all dirt and wax.
2. wipe down with isopropyl alcohol (full strength or 50:50?)
3. mark out with painter tape where it goes.
4. peel plastic off tape and put spoiler on
5. use a lot more painter tape (blue stuff) to hold it down tight until tape cures
Am I missing anything? Is this better down on a warm day or a cold day? should I heat the tape up with a hair dryer before or after intalling? How long should I leave it before driving?
Any tips for me based on your experience installing the trunk spoiler? Seems simple enough, but I thought I should ask the experts.
Thanks!
FWIW, I will post pics of my process and try to document for future DIY's.

I wouldn't recommend using dawn... that'll mess up your paint. Rather than using alcohol, just take a clay bar and thoroughly clay your trunk. The rest sounds good, although I'm not sure that all the painters tape is necessary...
