Hi Guys,
My I-Drive screen suddenly went blank while I was driving on the Freeway today. Now, I have a blank I-Drive screen with no more radio, telephone, navigation or car information. This is coupled with the controller (on the pedestal) completely free.
Has anyone experienced this problem and would you kindly show me how to fix it?
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you in advance!
Daniel

Thank you, Gav for the reply!
I hope it's just the CONTROL UNIT MICRO POWER MODULE that went bad. Just curious, how much did it cost you to replace the CCC?
And do you or anyone know how to test or replace the control unit micro power module?

In the meanwhile, I will continue my search and see what I can do to avoid taking it to the dealer.
Thank you in advance for any inputs/suggestions!

Depends what year your car is, my car has the micro power module integrated into the KGM body module (behind the glovebox). They started doing this around Sept. 2005 (European cars anyway). Best you check you boot for any water ingress. For prices on secondhand CCC units, just type BMW E60 CCC in ebay.
Good Luck

Gav, thank you!
My car is a 2006 BMW 530i with sports and premium package...
I have an appointment with Long Beach BMW Dealer tomorrow.
I am crossing my fingers for good news and less expensive fix! :-)
Have a great day!!!

My car is at Long Beach BMW dealer. The Service Advisor said I will get my diagnostic results tomorrow. I will keep you updated...
If the repair is less than $500, I will definitely buy an extended warranty for piece of mind.

Thanks, Pjinca!
I will definitely consider your great advice. I can use the savings for better use!
PLEASE LET IT NOT BE THE CCC!!!!

If the CCC is bad DO NOT GET IT DONE AT THE DEALER!!! Dealer quoted me $2000 for the job. I ended up sourcing a good second hand CCC and TCU online for around $750 and went to Solely Bimmer in Mission Viejo for the install/programming - grand total? About $1100 including adding in the Aux port for the iPod ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
