Thumbs up

Hi,

I?m going to install business navi to my BMW but some of the instructions are still missing. I have all parts needed and instruction which tells you how to install GPS antena and do the wiring but it doesn?t tell you how to remove original M-ASK from the center console. It only says: Install M-ASK navigation as described in TIS 65 12 200. Does somebody have that document? Or if someone could explain it in details. Thanks!

Don't have time right now but I can provide you with that document soon.

In case you didn't already know, there's one thing you need to understand about this procedure -- you can install everything perfectly but it's not going to work until you have everything programmed by the dealer...

Yes, I?m aware of this programming. One thing that I do not understund is that in the beginning of the procedure it tells you to flash-upgrade with the latest I stage before starting the conversion work. I guess this is something that requires BMW dealer to be taken care of but what is it and why it is required?

So far I have been thinking that I will do this flash-upgrading with dealer then I will install all parts by myself and then I will go again to dealer for programming. Would it work in that way?

It's the same cost as dealer doing for you.

Unfortunately it is not. I asked local dealer about this and they will charge 5 hours of work if tehy do everything which is around 500 euros, but if they do only the flashing and reprogramming costs are between 100-200 euros.

2 x 200 euros = 400 euros right there. For another 100 euros, let them do it. Ask them quote you first.

I mean 100-200 euros for flashing AND programming all together, and total sum depends how long flashing will take because they didn?t have any exact time for flashing. Besides I like to do things by myself as much as I can.

400 to 500€ for installation looks quite expencive for me

My dealer did the retrofitting of navi business for me. I was able to get the complete navi for 999€ and had an offer of about 100€ for the complete installation.

I asked my dealer to do it for the 100€ (I will provide the navi). His answer was, OK I do the complete thing for 1100€ (including everything). And he did it - works 100%

So, I think it must be quite quick and easy to install and flash.

Here's the instructions that you asked for:
Master_RA__Removing_and_installing__replacing__audio_system_controller_65_12_200.pdf

Just click on the links (rectangles around words) to take you to the pages that are referenced by the links and use the back button (not the browser's back button) to take you back to where you were. Also, you can use the bookmarks to jump around the document.

Good luck!
