I bought a hydraulic jack that can raise the car 485mm. I also bought fixed stand to put them at the support points. If I raise the car from the rear there isn't sufficient clearance to put the stand in the front. If I jack up the car in front then where do I put the support. I am stuck .

It sounds stupid, but I did not want to put the stand at a point where it may damage the underside or a weak support point. Any clues to solve this issue will be much appreciated.

thanks....

are you trying to get the car on 4 jackstands? best place to put them is at the factory jacking points on the sides. i'd use a rubber pad between the jackstands and body though. i've also set jackstands under the control arms.

no I am trying to jack up the front part only to get to change oil. THe problem is that I do not want to laeave the hydraulic jacck in place but want to use the normal type with a mechanical lock just to be sure.

well you can jack up the car and then set the car back down with the front wheels on ramps. i'm afraid to try driving up the ramps with my m-tech bumper.

if you need more height, i set the jackstands under the forward control arms, right next to where they bolt to the car's frame.

I know I am kinda late but others may have the same problem, I know I did at first. What I do is jack up the front of the car at the front center jacking location, this gets the front two wheels in the air. I lower the car onto a jackstand at each front side jacking point, I made a plywood cap for my jackstands that fits into the jacking location (see the picture below) I then jack up the rear at the rear side point with the jack, this gets the rear two wheels up in the air. I lower the car onto a third jackstand and usually just leave the hydraulic jack in place at the fourth corner. The car will sit on three jackstands but can teeter so the jack just needs to keep it from doing that, so I am comfortable with leaving the jack as the fourth support. I have however raised the car at the rear structural member to get it on four jackstands. Oh I also made a puck to use with my jack, I think someone sells something similar but I just made it out some steel I had lying around. Hopefully that helps some people.
