My Ride: 2007 Titanium Gray 550i, with sport, nav, HUD, Logic7, sat radio, cold weather, rear side airbags, rear seat heaters, and it goes like a bat outta hell!
My 2004 530 had terrible problems with the original door seals... I had the carboflo treatment a few times, but after about a month, the incessant squeaking was back. Finally, they replaced the seals with the new "improved" seals....and...I never had a problem again. I've been in my 07 550 for a week now, and I've washed it twice.....no squeaks whatsoever.....on my 530 I noticed the squeaking the day after I got the car.......it's interesting that some cars struggle, and some don't. I never clean the seals, and I NEVER wax the car where the seals come in contact.........but I can attest to the fact that the squeaking will drive you crazy!!

I came across this topis and saw the TIS. However, my creaking noise is coming from the "RUBBER" seal, or should I call it "Weather Seal". Ths TIS only cover the Felt-like material. Can anyone advise ?
Thanks

Just had the dealer replace mine. Was happy for a week and now it started all over again.

Sorry for the stupid question but it never happened to me and I don't know what to expect if it did.

Is there some kind of "money back" thing from the dealer if they don't solve your problem? Or are you stuck with the costs and with no improvement whatsoever ?

I just can't be bothered to start the whole process with the dealer again :-(

Oh great
Sorry to hear that.... But nice car BTW, don'T know why but I kinda got a sympathy for 520d owners with M-Sport pack, even if I drive a 530d myself......Fuel prices, thank you

I tried wax etc, nothing worked for me. My dealer fixed the problem 100% with the 3m Teflon tape around the frames (As per the service note).
Now my car is silent. Pay the $, get the dealer to stick on the tape, and move on swiftly.
Don't argue (normally I'd never say this in a million years) but the dollars are small the improvement is massive. It just felt so good driving away - I was thinking of trading it in - now its a keeper!
Cheers

That said, I was told the teflon tape may look "tacky", because over time bubbles may form from it. If you remove it then some residual glue may remain and be messy. How does your car look with the teflon tape?

You can barelt see the teflon tape - if the dealer put it on properly - it shouldn't bubble.
I've taken my girl in 3 times for this problem.
Everything's quiet for a week or so then...%#$%!
They've done everything in the SIB...nothing left to do.
I took Rudy's advice and just ordered some 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner.
I believe he said a once a month cleaning should to the trick.
I'm sure the other methods will work, as well.
