I followed these directions. It only took me about an hour. I took my time though. I'm going to do the front window next.

Guys I'm planning on replacing my rear strip as well , but have one question if any of you guys could help . My 545i has rear comfort glass so is there any difference on strip ? ? I mean is there a different strip or just the regular normal strip ?? Planning on doing it once I get a clean answer . Thanks in advance

My Ride: E60 M5
Default Whats up folks!

I bought my 2006 E60 M5 and I had the same problem with that trim.I wanted to get rid of that so I went to the Circle BMW on route 36 east,NJ and spoke to the guy about to fix that and he told me I will have to replace the windshield and the cost will be 1,400.00!After that I started searching and I found the 5series forums with all the answers including videos of how to change the Trim/seal.
I just ordered from ECS Tunning and I'll definitely do it by my self!
Thanks to all you guys!

Are you referring to the REAR Windshield (window)?

I also have to replace the rubber trim for the rear quarter windows. Have the new parts.

Did anyone do a video they can post, as don't want to make a mess of it.

Thanks

Local glass place wants $130, but I gotta buy the part on my own (they also said glass needs to come out)...

BMW "specialty" mechanic quoted $199 BUT will be more if glass has to come out AND they said it could break since it's
been in so long ('04) which of course means even more $$ and additional $$ for my tint!

Can this be done as a DYI??? The part from BMW is like $70.

Any experience with this..anyone

Thanks!
listen this fix you can do it your self if you have time it’s not that hard at all . Look it up on YouTube it will tell you with details and you’ll see how easy it is . Don’t give bmw dealership your money they are charging you an hour of work which is $200 dollars average when you can do this yourself
