Hi,

I have read extensively on this great site about the above. I have just got a 530d ( late 2003 manufacture). I want to upgrade MASK to CCC which I can get from a crashed 2007 550. If I understand it correctly I should do the following

1. Bring 530d to dealer to get software up to current version

2. Take CCC, Nav antenna, ipod connector, Idrive controller from 550 and fit them to 530d

3. A cable needs to be run to a speed sensor underneath the steering wheel, would that already be in the 07 550

4. Take 530 back to dealer to get all activated

Am I missing anything, any help would be appreciated

correct.
I'm fairly sure the dealer coding will require a CCC from the correct pre 9/05 time period. If you're using Autologic that's not the case.
yes, you do, and the cable is not included in the 550, as that function was changed on 9/05 and newer cars.

Thanks to both of you for your help. It looks very doable. A few phone calls this morning have tracked down a dealer who owes someone a favour and will help out.

Should be done within the week and I will kepp you posted.
