I've followed all the advice to the T as outlined in

https://5series.net/forums/topic/601...__bleed+brakes

this was my 1st bleed job. I even bought the bleeder and catch bottle from Bav Auto.

I did each wheel and made sure the color changed from old yellow/brown brake fluid to new clear (Dot 4). Brake fluid in the reservoir is topped off, my pedal goes all the way in, no matter how many times I pumped it. I opened up the reservoir again to check levels and it's topped off. I pumped the pedal many times with the reservoir cap open, thinking the pedal would suck in some fluid and I would have to top off. Nothing.

Any ideas? What should I do?

Thanx.

not an expert on brakes but I assume that once air is in the line, you have to pump the pedal while it is disconnected in order for the fluid to flush out the air.

May be some other experts will chime in later on today...

Now I'm a bit concern with doing this later on.

Good luck

after you finished you started the car correct? and pumped the break? I dont know what the term is but for me the breaks had to rebuild pressure. Once I pumped it a few times with the car on I was ready to go. please do this while parked.

I pumped the brakes about 50 times. I tried with the car on, I tried with the car off. I tried pumping with MC cover open and closed. Brake fluid level doesn't change in the MC.

My guess is that I somehow have a lot of air in the system. The brake bleeder BavAuto sold, I saw air bubbles go into MC through the tube.

Anyone has any suggestions what I should have done differently?

I'll try bleeding the old fashioned way in a little bit, by pumping the brake pedal.

Protams, it's not about money, it's about learning (ponyal?)

sounds like air entered the system.
did you make sure that the fluid level never got low in the resorvoir(not the bottle) while bleeding? otherwise air will get in the system.

You did add fluid to the pressure bleeder? Otherwise you would be pumping air into your system

And you started in the Passenger rear r, Drivers Rear, Passenger Front, Drivers front

yup, of course i added fluid to the pressure bleeder, i always fluid in there, about .5 to 1 liter. for some reason I saw air bubbles enter the system through the feeder tube.

I'll try bleeding again.

Turbo, which reservoir do you mean, the master cylinder or the pressure bleeder container? I alwayd had fluid in there. I'll re-bleed.
