Hey guys. I was looking into some small inexpensive mods to get a little more power on my 2004 530i. I don't want to race or anything. Just small things that will increase my acceleration response and horse power. Thinking about a K&N filter with the RPI scoop that I heard about here. Any help and ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

A sprint booster supposedly makes your throttle respond a little differently. Might be what you're looking for. Oh, ditching the run-flats (if you have them) should make a small difference as well.

If you want to "feel" additional responsiveness the Sprint Booster is the way to go. Any miniscule horsepower gains from heavily marketed add-ons isn't likely to make a difference you could actually measure. After all, is a 1/4 second 0-60 difference really going to matter?

I'd save the money and spend it on buying quality gasoline, tires, and performing regular maintenance and repairs.

There are V1 and V2 ... the V2 is adjustable (IMHO an unnecessary feature unless you have two drivers, one of whom is uncomfortable with a "touchy" gas pedal. And, the V1 version are specific to auto or manual - they are not interchangeable. So if you have an automatic transmission you must get an auto SB V1.

I suggest you post a WTB in the personal classified. You'll probably get a hit - if you don't check with me next week I have one from my '07 530 I might consider selling if I can make up my mind about trading up to a 2013.

I'm new to this forum so I don't really know how to post WTB posts. But anyway I will pm you my info in case you decide to trade in your car. Mine is automatic and I dont need the adjustable one.
