I've been pulling my hair out for the last few days trying to get NCS Expert working. I have used INPA to read and clear codes with no problem. I can get NCS Expert to read my VIN, but I always get an error whenever I try to read the various modules in the car.

I am using NCS V3.0.8
INPA 5.02
EDIABAS 6.4.7

I am using an eBay EDIABAS serial cable connected through a USB/Serial adapter. The laptop runs WinXP. My car is a 2006 530i, build date 08.2005. I'm not sure what software version is currently running on my car.

Here's the error that I am getting:

ERROR! Modul: SW_ARRAY.C, ProcNr: 08, LineNr: 01, ErrorNr: 43.
ERROR! Modul: CBD_PROC.C, ProcNr: 02, LineNr: 16, ErrorNr: 43.

ERROR! Modul: CDH.C, Proc: CDHGetNettoMaskFromCbd, LineNr: 01, ErrorNr: 1043
COAPI-1043: error during processing CBD-file
MASK_E60.C0B

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 1043
CODIERDATEN_LESEN

After some research, I think that I need a later version of the E60 daten files then I currently have. I've managed to find the coding files that reside in this folder on my computer, C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\, but I cannot find the latest versions of these files:

\NCSEXPER\SGDAT\ -------- .ipo files
\EDIABAS\Ecu\ -------------- .prg files

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or ZIP the files and send them to me? Do I have another problem altogether?

Thanks for the help.

It seems to be having problem w/ a file called MASK_E60.C0B, does that file exist? Maybe damage? It should be inside NCSEXPER\DATEN\E60 ... if exist what is the time/date & size of that file?

In relation to updated date files not sure which version you got but it seems there are an incomplete archive out there. For example the latest ISTA 2.40.0 at least there's a version stripped out by somebody that only has 4 folders while the complete one has 7 folders and the missing folders seems to include "ecu" & "sgdat" folders you were missing.

GL!

Thanks for the response.

I was finally able to find the ISTA daten files for the E60. I use NCS-Expert 3.1 and daten files from October, 2010. It all seems to be working like a champ now.
