this morning on the way to work my iDrive flashed that I had a left tail lamp malfunction...(just the way I want to wake up)...
When I got to work I checked everything....tail light, brake light, signal light....everything seemed fine....is there any other reason this warning may come on??

BMW detect the current ( effect by impedance of lamp ) for each check point.... When a lamp almost out or some "going to bad" connector occurs, the current flow might out of spec which cause the error. And you still see the lamp working...

Thanks guys.
Seems like it knows its going to go out or I have a bad connection.
I'll leave it for the time being to see if or which light goes out and if not...check the connections and hope for the best!

Mine did this intermittently over a 1-week period preceeding the actual death of the tail lamp bulb. I think iDrive has ESP ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)
