I ordered the wood handbrake and and shift knob and have them at my house but couldn't figure out how to take out my current ones. I was hoping that somebody could give me directions on how to do it or if anyone could post up a DIY for both the handbrake and shift knob. I checked the forums but couldn't find a previosuly posted DIY. Thanks.

Can't speak for the LCI cars, those shifters are different. On pre LCI's like my 2004, you simply pull. Hard! when doing the shift knob, be careful. People have been known to smack themselves in the chin pulling it off...

Don't know if you got to the handbrake already but just push the gaiter off the handle and you'll see some tabs you need to press down before you can remove it.

Better still was when i pulled mine off and hit the mirror with force as it came off, which then cracked the windscreen. :-(

For the hanbrake you need to pull off the leather boot around it, trim piece that holds it in pops off, when you pull it off you see the leather is attached to the hanbrake handle with a small ziptie, need to cut that then pull off the handbrake handle, it's basically "wedged"onto the handle. Remember when re-attaching the leather boot to the handle to line up the seams properly (take a look at how it looks before you remove it).
