So before my 545 i use to own Hondas and a Lexus where I would use those fuel injector cleaners before filling up my gas tank. Is it recommended with our E60s? Has anyone ever used it before and how was it? I'm kinda hesitant to do so since I've made a few costly fluid mistakes before. Any advice?

I use Chevron Techron once or twice a year in each of my cars. Have done so for the past 20+ years. http://www.chevron.com/products/prod...tives/tcp.aspx

In the past, once in a while, I have used RedLine fuel system cleaner. http://www.redlineoil.com/Products.aspx?pcid=12

I've never had a fuel-related issue but I'm not claiming either of these products are to credit.

I use dragon power by castle in my 545i every 10k miles like they recommend. It boosted my mpgs for awhile and it seems like the car runs smoother. I pay 6 bucks a bottle from the castle guy whenever he comes by.

+1.

I've used Chevron Techron recently and it has been about 6 full tanks since i've put it in. My mpg used to be 21.9 mpg on my 530i auto prior to adding the additive. Now I get 23.6mpg on Average(I've reset the mpg calc. every time I re-fueled). I have the same daily commute, same drving habit, A/C on, and same tire 36psi all around. I can say that all conditions have been the same when comparing the two average MPGs. Thus, it calculates to approximately 8% gain in mpg for my car, in which i'm greatly satisfied when the gas price is going up. Most likely the MPG gain can be contributable to the fact that I've used the Chevron Techron fuel cleaner additive. Mabye others could chime in too.

Also note that BMW dealership sells the same product with a bmw logo added for more $. It is the exact same product.

Bottomline - great product and I will be using it every 3 months.
