Newbie here, so would enjoy feedback from those with experience...

My newly-acquired 2004 525i was towed to replace a flat tire and bent rim. The towing company used the ring-screw in the front bumper to haul it up on the flat bed, leaving some bad scratch marks in the black plastic bumper.

I had used Weiman Metal Polish (for brass, copper, and all metals) before for buffing out dull marks and paint smears on Lucite tail lens.

This worked great on the bumper scratches, and buffing the area later with Armor All or a restorative polish like McQuires makes the marks nearly invisable, saving repair shop expenses.

Welcome to the forum ... too bad your first experience with your new-to-you e60 was unpleasant. Search for posts about wheel and tire insurance if you haven't already and enjoy the rest of the ride!

that's pretty cool, never thought of using metal polish to buff plastic.
