Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck, or possibly just the knowledge as to if it would be possible to change the clock spring on an e60 to the clock spring for an e90 3 series... More to the point, this would allow me to install this amazing M3 steering wheel I have laying around and trash the dumpy e60 stock one.

I've searched and am coming up completely empty besides pulling my wheel and realizing that for some reason bmw decided 5 series and m6's needed a different clock spring than all of the 3 series and the x series...

Any experience or help would be huge, if not I guess i'll have to buy an m5 wheel, just not a fan of the airbags.

Thanks guys!

I have just bought an M5 paddle wheel and all the bits that will hopefully fit my 535d. I am taking it down to Birdsauto for them to fit on Friday. If you look on their site they do advertise steering wheel fitting but whether they could fit am M3 wheel to an E60 I don't know.

Also, have you seen this thread where the guy swaps his M3 wheel for an M5 wheel? Don't know if its any help.
