OK will clarify a few things as there's a little confusion here.

There's three types of module 1 for the E60.

Champ = 1 single CD player and no navigation (US, Europe and Australia)
M-ask = 1 single CD player and 1 DVD player with business navigation (arrows and voice guidance, (Europe and Australia only))
CCC = 1 single CD player and 1 DVD player with pro navigation (full colour maps and voice guidance, (US, Europe and Australia))

Hi guys, this is my maiden post on this forum, and I know I'm digging up an old thread but I wanted to just provide a bit more info, as what's been said so far isn't totally accurate.

The guy was trying to get Nav working on his 2005 model 530 with single slot. This is not going to work since units of this model year with a single slot do not have the GPS functionality. (It would appear that as of 2005 there was no 'business' navigation for E60/E63, only professional, with the twin slot units)

HOWEVER up to 2004, the single slot unit WAS available with GPS functionality so it is possible to have a 2004 car with only a single slot and Business navigation. That is where the confusion has arisen.

I have a 2005 e63 (single slot, so non-nav) since my CD player is goosed I am swapping it out for an earlier 2004 unit with the GPS, so hopefully I'll be able to add a GPS antenna, recode the unit and then I'll have business nav. I'll keep you posted...

Can you elaborate please?

I've got a 2004 with the mask unit, I've taken it out and added the GPS antenna. Codeded on mask navigation and navigation flodenmus. However no matter what version or year of navigation I burn it always shows invalid media type even the Europe 1 2019 west dual layer DVD didn't work. What version worked for you? Thanks!

Default 2004 add nav

I have a 2004 530i no nav and I was getting random thuds and crackling noises through my speakers for a while, then the whole system just went out. I just bought display/screen from a car that had nav. Can I just buy a ccc(dvd player) from another e60 that has nav or does it have to meet certain criteria. Thanks in advance

A BMW is not like regular cars. Everything you do will require coding and programming. Do some research and read up on how used BMWs are cheap to buy but expensive to maintain. Nothing is easy when it comes to a BMW unless you've been owing and doing everything on it for a while.

I bought this one six years ago and haven’t had to do really much of anything to it. Except for tires and struts. I’ve done lotta reading over the years and I’ve had other BMWs this being the cheapest one.

Oh ok so you know how to code and program the modules already. In that case you can add what you want to your car as long as you retrofit it correctly. The criteria is irrelevant when you're doing retrofits.
