My Ride: 2005 E60 545i Manual, Sport, L7
Model Year: 2005
Default E60 coding

I need to do some basic coding to my car, I have Mac laptop? Do I need to get just the USB cable or buy software also and where can I buy them?

AFAIK, all of the coding software runs on Windows. You will most likely need to boot camp you Mac. That's what I did and it worked for me. Suggest you visit bmwcoding.com for more information. That's where I learned to do some basic stuff. There's lots of information out there on the interwebs.
