I'm new to the e60 ownership club (having had e39s previously), so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I have my e60 ?04 530d just over a week.
I?ve gotten so used to the zenon lights in my e39 I think the Halogen bulbs in my e60 are a bit dull for driving at night and especially in the rain.
I bought replacement halogen bulbs (Osram 50% brighter) both for the low and high beams.
The problem I have is changing the old bulbs for the new one?s!
The space for removing the back cover is extremely tight,

it says in the book turn the cover to the left and replace the bulb!

But unless you have tiny hands this looks a bit impossible!!


So here?s my question how do I take off the covers to replace the bulbs??

IMO, it would be easier for you to take the entire headlight unit out....

I notice the cap still has to come off to reach the lower screw, it must be just hard to get at in general

Hey i just finished replacing my H7 bulbs to ice white/blue H7's its not that difficult to be honest i have huge hands lol and i managed it without too much trouble, the black cap twists off, jus turn it until you feel its loose and then pull. same with the bulbs, hold on to the black plastic handle you can see once the caps are off and twist them in the same way the whole piece will then pull out, now just replace the old bulbs and hold the black plastic handle and replace it, you can see from the front of the headlight if its in, now make sure you twist the black handle to lock the bulbs in to place, repeat on the others and your done, takes 20mins max, id never done it before today, and its easier than i thought. Taking the whole headlight out is a headache if your just replacing the H7'S
