are you getting any noise in your system from the H701? I heard that was an issue with that unit.
No noise, the sound is good and clean so far, I did have noise before I made the install when using the AUX IN with my IPOD, some popping and clicking. Was worried about that - but knock wood, no noises other than the ones I want!
Cheers

That's a beautiful-looking installation. As someone who transitioned to an E60 with premium sound, from a Lexus with Nakamichi sound, I know the E60 audio system leaves a lot to be desired. I suppose if you ask how much it costs, you can't afford it. Here's one I can ask: What does ICE stand for?

Hi there, ICE is an acronym In Car Entertainment, as for the cost, all the hardware cost $4400 USD, and the install was abotu $1000 USD. I imagine you could put together a system in the same general design for a lot less in the US, you could select different speakers and amplifiers to cut costs, but the Genisis LOC or similar product and the Alpine multi media manager is a must to get the clean signal to the amps, and to raise the sound stage in the car.
Thanks
Ted

very good job, i love the set up , i myself am working on a set up but im running 3 way components check out my link for pics, i wasnt able to get good clearance on the 7" midbass so i had to bring it out somewhat.

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=39814&hl=

very similar set up i will have a pxa h701 and use a vhub pro to manage everything not to forget the alpine m740bt.

great set up though

congrats

Those look great, did you do them youself? Even with teh 6" 2 way Morel Elate setup I have - at top end it breaks up, bet the 7" are really strong. Also how did you seal it to the floor - or are the backs closed in?? did you remove the carpet?

I think that once you get it in with the Alpine & get it all tuned and some presets saved you will love it.

On my Alpine I used 3 of the presets so far, I set up preset 1 for when I am alone, used the microphone to get the best sound when I am in the drivers seat, so the delay etc is perfect just for me. 2nd preset is when I have 2 persons in the car, I notice the sound stage drops a bit but is less agressive on my ears at loud volumes, but it fills the front area nice. 3rd preset is for 4 up, bringing the rear into play a bit more, balancing the sound for 4 persons. I am still learning about all the capabilities this unit has but what I do know is that once it is set up, - 1 finger, 1 button and presto... For sure you will love it, know I do...

Make the nice ladies riding shotgun with you take care with the shoes! Had a black heel mark on my passenger side the other night, my speaker covers are steel so it came off no problem - no damage, but when I saw it, was pissed.... I'm sure you know to take care wtih the passengers, they may not realize the speakers are there...

Cheers,

Ted
