i got a 530xi single exhaust... ive seen a bunch of 530i with dual exhausts and i know they dont come that way so i wanna do the same with my xi. how hard is it to modify and turn it into a dual exhaust... i imagine it cant be that hard cuz i got under the car and i saw that it has the room on the right side. all it has is a plastic cover. i imagine i gotta change the bumper to a to slot for the exhaust and just buy the exhaust.... am i right or just way out in left field somewhere...?

There is a battery box on the right side behind the plastic cover, so you there won't be much room for another silencer on that side. Sure you can do it like I did:

It's a complete set that includes the rear silencer, tips and the pipe to the right side. The manufacturer is a FOX Sportexhausts, Germany. My set is specifically for a diesel.

It sounds pretty much stock. With a diesel engine it almost always sounds the same regardless the exhaust option.

No I didn't need to buy a new bumper, only a new diffuser.

This is what I have: http://www.fox-sportauspuff-shop.de/..._48_2005_80_82

What I got is a system with 2 1/4" piping (smaller than oem to miantian back pressure and therefore lose as little HP as possible) and dual magnaflow mufflers. To make it fit on the right side they needed to hammer in the corner of the battery box a little and it cleared. Sound is great and I have equal pressure from both sides
