Default E60 Rear Axle: Swing Part reparation.

Hi to all.

Because of the "defective" Swing parts, my car (BMW E60, 530d, 218PS, 2004, 285.000km) did not pass technical control in Germany today. The rubber-bearing are cut (see the attachment). Contacted some shops, also BMW service: they all offer complete swing part from official BMW dealers (Swing Part: 33 32 6 754 557 and 33 32 6 754 558), which costs close to 500€ per peace.

As I am not willing to pay ~1000€ because of some defective rubber parts, I made some forum reading and found that actually this rubber joints can be replaced.

I already ordered them, waiting to arrive. Here are the part numbers:

LEMFÖRDER:
34933 01, 1 peace per side, ~10€.
34934 01, 1 peace per side, ~10€.

In total for 4 rubber-bearings I paid 41€ with delivery included. Sounds fantastic compared to what BMW service is offering.

I got the parts! Taking out the old rubber joints from the Swing was really hard. Putting back the new ones was easier by using gas-outlet clumps. So I pressed the rubber joints with that clumps to the right diameter and only then pushed them to their position in the Swing.

I passed technical control in Germany!

Almost 1,5 years is past from the reparation date, >30.000 km is driven: Rubber-bearings are still fine.
