This is actaully me removing my M5 mirrors to get them repainted Sapphire Black since they were just Jet Black but its the same process either way.

First the things you'll need for this:
T30 driver to unscrew the mirrors
A flathead and phillips screwdriver (you only need these if you don't have the trim removal tools.)
A small socket to unscrew the battery connection
A plastic bag to hold the battery terminal
Also roll down the two front windows all the way

The two circled area are where the 2 screws are located that need to be loosened. You can then pull it away using the little opening on the bottom of it.

Use the socket wrench to disconnect the terminal. Make sure to not drop the nut or bolt down into the area next to the battery.

I personally stuck them onto some duct tape and stuck it to the inside of the trunk so I wouldn't lose them.

I then wrapped the disconnected terminal in two plastic bags and taped it back, since the cable wants to slid back towards its connection.

Now you need to pop off this little plastic cover. I used a small flathead and just wiggled it off. If you have a pair of tweezers, they would probably work better.

Now slide the flathead wrapped in some masking tape on either side and pop it up.

It should come off pretty easily, and you can safely pull it out this far. Then use the T30 and loosen this screw. You can undo it until it comes out or almost completly. Either way is good.

I forgot to take pics of myself popping the panel off of the door, but I usually start on the outer most edge and use a masking tape wrapped flathead. Just slide it in and slowly put some leverage on the door and it should pop off. I then just move the flathead down until I hit another one and pop it out just like the first, do this along the bottom 3/4ths of the door. At the top of the door you can see the metal clips that will hold the door after you pop off the other ones. I usually just pull up on the door at this point. The clip in the middle is the last one to get off. Just slowly pull outward using the door handle and it should come off, just make sure not to use too much force because you still need to unplug the cables. After the door is off you should unhook all the cables on the door. These are simple enough to figure out.

This is what the door and the panel will look like seperated.

Unplug the cable from the old mirrors

I just pull off the tweeter and unscrew the mirror using the same T30 driver from earlier then push the rubber grommit out along with the wires
