How hard is it to install the MTech kit yourself (not paint) ?

not so worried about the bumpers, but it's the side skirts that worry me, wouldn't know where to start, do they just unclip?

Anybody has DIY pics, instructions, etc? body shops want to charge me a lot as they would have to test fit it first, they it counts as two installations...

The Side skirts are the easiest bit by far. Just need to undo all the torx bolts and unclip. There's a thread on here specifically about the sides with pics that I found was all I needed.

There's lots of info on here, and with pics. I was gonna test fit first too, but TurboAWD on here suggested it wasn't necessary for a genuine OEM kit and he was right. Should be easy to find the DIY threads, I managed to. And now having done it, I'm very glad I didn't pay someone to do it.

Actually my parts are not OEM, so I don't want to have them painted before making sure they fit nicely.

Thanks for the info, it's very helpful and easier and I thought.

They want to charge me $400 just for test fitting and installing them once painted. I can have a guy paint the front bumper and skirts for $200, so I think I'd rather try to do the installation myself.

Any issues while installing the front bumper that I should watch for?

is it fiberglass?? if so it will cost you more to get test fitted and make it fit by adjusting it.. make sure you are getting polyurethane..

What's so bad about Fiberglass? I just got a aftermarket M-tech rear which it's fiberglass.

Has any body had problems using fiberglass as a rear or front bumper?

fiberglass sounds like a bad idea to me.
for one, it doesnt flex. so if you bump something, expect some damage. the edges and mounting points of the fiberglass bumper will be very abrasive and can wear out the finish on whatever it touches.
say you bump something hard. instead of the bumper collapsing easy, which the poly bumpers would do, the fiberglass would probably get shifted and scratch damage whatever is next to it...like fenders. lights, rear quarter.
i guess why would you go with fiberglass, when there are repro poly bumpers available for cheap.
