The install went pretty smooth and I'm not a DYI kinda person. Bout an hour 15 min. Only hiccup was the red power and black ground rings were too small too fit on the respective bolt. Had to cut about a 1/3 or the ring off to get it to fit around the larger bolt/threading. But results are AWESOME!!!

could be alot better if ultra slim canbus ballasts with error cancelling were used ,no need to drill headlamp covers or locate ballasts ,as they are small enough to fit in back of headlamp

False. Not possible at all to fit ballast into headlights. Plus you wouldn't want to introduce another piece of hot part into the headlights anyway.

There's a reason why ballasts are always mounted outside.

il take ur word for it on the lci lights, but on pre lci defo enough room , and by the time youve fitted the bloody led conversion theres that much heat the driver circuit for the 10w cree leds blows frequently

changed the driver 3 times in a few months ,i reckon a hid conversion for the pre lci is needed ,just need to find some short hid bulbs that can be adapted to the original bulb holders

Ah, I remember your handle now. So you did went ahead and tried your idea! Lol. Well, your experience is why when the news of the 20w AE set up came out I said that shit will burn.

Anyway, with all that trouble, you might as well just cut open the headlights and a) install Orions b) a custom set up where the LEDs are directly pointing at the stock rings.

Let's say that you manage to find a (motorcycle) HID bulb to fit in there, you're still going to have problems. The heat from the bulb will definitely cause damage. As I've explained in the other thread, the LCI's actually have a pretty heavy duty metal reflector that act both as a reflector and heat sink for LCI's angel eye bulb.

In any case, let's not detract from the original topic.

Did you tested the new released 15W HID kit on AE?
They say it has 1500Lm,besides 35W HID which has 2800-3200Lm.

I have this setup for couple of weeks and happy with it. 15w HID from Ebay fitted it into the OEM AE halogen reflector. The key point is to get the light beam focusing to the fiber strand. The reflector is handling the heat from the 15W HID just fine.
