Well.. bringing this topic from the dead, form where i paused last time :) Been in pause on the retrofits because been a lot busy with work and family issues and i am now picking up where i stopped!

Resuming: my original center console doesn't have all that plugs on the picture, does yours have the three plugs 545iMike ?

I already got another center console, because i think that was the problem.. but didn't had much time yet to study the diagrams and make any changes, but my theory is that the energy sent to the sunblind should be feed from one of the missing plugs on my original center console. Now, i just need to found out if this is the case!

There isnt any issue with the sunblind itself because it works fine when i connect it to a 12v source. To close i just need to reverse the 12v feed on the wires! So, that one is out.

Already tested the window controls sometime ago, with the DIS or INPA i think.. don't remember very well which one i used but from what i gathered, the windows controls are fine too.

That only leaves the possibility i refered on the start of this message.

Can anyone tell me if they have the sunblind with a center console WITHOUT the three plugs on the pic? If yes, which plugs does it have?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Best regards

Just to update that it's everything working now, it was as i said before.. i had one of the plugs missing! In your pictures i can now see the missing plug and i didn't find it on mine so i made the error of thinking that the pins you refered where the existent one's.

Your DIY is perfect.. the error was mine.. will post only the pic i took to help me, that in the end was as good as the one you already had here and the complete diagram.

To whoever is reading this and is planning to do the retrofit. You need to have the plug in the red rectangle. If you only have the plugs in the blue rectangle then you're out of luck and you will have to arrange for one center console that also has the other plug.

Best regards and thanks everyone!

Glad you got it working.

there is another potentially cheaper solution for people who don't have that centre console or don't want to buy another windows switch panel. You buy the E39 sun blind button. It has all the electronics in it to power and reverse the power to the sunblind.

How do I wire/install an LCI model which does not have this center console?

If you go to the first page, I posted an LCI wiring diagram. It still goes to the center console switch. (Seat heater buttons) You just have to figure out which one (left or right) is A862.

so if I understand you correctly, I would need to swap the buttons and hardware out from the center around the ashtray from 2 buttons to 3 from another car?

sounds like a lot of work to go OEM!

I see the above, but just do not understand where it goes. The LCI does not have the same module in that location that the pre-LCI has. There is nothing there.

I was wrong. Not seat heater buttons.

Scroll through it. You'll see the center console switch is behind the glovebox. A862.

Ah-- anyone have any idea what an E60 LCI sunshade button looks like? I have no idea

Sometimes the lci is a pain since there are so few of them!
