Hi newbie here with similar question. Have swapped out the basic mirror with the autodimming one including the garage remote. For my car it comes with a small accessory wiring loom kit (part no. 61 31 0 148 128). Only has 3 wires all with terminals to push into connector block at mirror end. Colours: brown with ring connector(ground I presume), red/blue and white/red/yellow both with bullet type connectors. Also new mirror connector block, 2 splice connectors and another block which looks very like the one into the rain sensor.
Do you think this wires in as Hobi's diagram with splicing into the existing led supply wires or some other way? (colours obviously different!!)

Cheers

Dave

Can you post the Jpeg again please, just picked up my car today and it also doesn't have the auto dimming mirror either.

Thanks.

Hi
You may need to talk to your Dealer about this retrofit. I had mine done because the wiring kit needs to connect to a module down behind the trim in the drivers side footwell and it is not obvious how to do this without instructions. If you are on good terms with your Dealer he might print these off for you.

Really?

You sure the wires going down into the footwell are not for the garage door opener??

I can't see why it would need anything other than 12v going to it, apart from the wires for the alarm that should already be there.

I will ask my dealer, although he said they could only supply the mirror with the compass so I don't hold out much hope!

Thanks for the reply.

You are right that it only needs another 12v supply to the correct pin in the mirror connector block but this seems to come from the footwell module
I don't see why you couldn't run a supply from nearer to the mirror if you can find one.

Ahh, right.

I will test to see if there is a switched 12v feed near by.

Thanks.

Hi guys,
have read through all the posts but I am still a little confused,
I have just bought an interior mirror auto with homelink ( 3 buttons) ..
but I have a shortage of wires, old one had 2 wires this needs about 6!
can I buy a wire loom or am I wasting my time? or is it possible to link it to existing wires?
Any help or advice very much appreciated
thanks
Andy
