I want to give my 5 series a clean look from the back. How do I take the 530i numbers off the back with out leaving marks.
thx |
I like using Dental Floss and Goo-Gone.

Do you use a blow dryer at the same time

my friend said when he took his off.....he just wet the badge with a wet towel pressed it up against the badging than used fishing line to take the badging off...good idea or bad???

1. Hair dryer. Aim about 8-10 inches away and only for about 10 seconds tops.
2. Dental Floss...drag it slowly across the back. If you get a tough area, pull the hair dryer back out and get that area. 3. Goo Gone. 4. Wax. Enjoy. |
De-badging mine tomorrow. Pics will follow. Thanks for the info!!

I used a hair dryer for about 45 seconds per number ... fishing line to cut behind ... lots of goo-gone ... and then a bit of hand polishing to clear away the fade marks and minor scrub marks from rubbing off the remaining glue. Finished off with a couple of coats of Zaino Z5 Pro ... good as new.

Hello,
for how long did you have your badge on your car? I am thinking also to remove the badge but I`m afraid that at the end I will have some marks on the paint because of the colour degradation from the sun. I have space grey and the car is 11 months old. |
