A friend of mine needed help with some battery coding in his e60 535 2006 due to "high rate of battery discharge" The battery was dead and he couldn't even start the car. The keyfob even got stuck once. This was a oem 90Ah battery.
He went to BMW and bought another oem battery, but this time a 110Ah battery. I helped him out and retrofitted this new bigger battery, coded it to VO, then CAS LMA. Recoded the new CAS and it's values over to cas again to get it to show 110Ah in inpa aswell
And aslo in inpa DDE6 (M57TOP) then reset IBS and confirm battery replacement. Got OK on both!
Now a week later, the message show up again "High rate of battery discharge" ?? Something i noticed was that i couldn't connect the MPM thru inpa, it should work. But could it be MPM that does this? Micro Power Module should exist in E60 up to 2007.
Or maybe IBS that does this? Any suggestion would be great. Need somekind of a start to get thru what i might could be that's draining the battery. The car does not give this message everytime, only the first start after a night.
Thanks

You'll have to check his vin on realoem and see if it does have an MPM. But it could be that his alternator is weak or not working which is causing battery drain.

Checked alternator current in inpa. Car running 14,5 volts. Car off almost 13 volts. So that's ok.
Checked under his sparetire, only PDC there. Checked realoem and its a 2006-05 535d. It says mpm should be equipped? But i cannot read it and i didn't find it. Were should this mpm be placed if not under sparetire?
He had a lot of errors stored and cleared EM, maybe it will do some good. And if this error occurs again i know what to first look up in the EM.

Clearing EM didn't do nothing.. Discharge error is back. I havent checked EM with inpa yet. But what could it be that's draining the battery?? Could it be faulty IBS?

2 discharge-warnings in two weeks.. It's better but still, it's there. Someone experienced this? Getting kind of tired of having this message show up every now and then.

Something is not going to sleep. Culprits have been IBS, CAS, or TCU. Sometimes it is a module that is waking up constantly, eg telemetry. The BMW Center has a computer to monitor a vehicle overnight, to log module activity (sleep, wake).

I realize that ofc. Sometimes "it" does.. Easiest is to start with IBS, but when IBS unplugged it won't register any changes in the battery right? CAS is worse, TCU aswell.. Can inpa monitor module activity? Then i will.
As said earlier in the thread, i haven't been able to read EM since i cleared the list. Think it was DME that has some errors. Stupid not to screenshot.
