Has anyone actually bought another wheel and changed to non runflats for reasons of ride improvement and replacement cost(marginal when you take in to account the cost of the extra wheel and jack etc)
It looks like the wheel well is not quite big enough (after moving the electrics) to take a full size spare.
My tyre size is 225/50 R17 on a 520d touring.
Thanks in advance.

Like many others (I believe), I switched to regular radial tires. I also located a used 18" wheel on the forum. It takes up trunk space, but the real spare gives me peace of mind. Selected Michelin Sport PLUS tires. Top of the line per Tire Rack surveys.
07 530i.
